 “Ultrazone DUAL” Ozone & UV Sterilizer (Standard) with Waterproof Electronic Ballast

You have heard of UV Sterilizers, right? How about Ozone Generators? Of course. Well, Ultralife has taken these to the next step, by combining both into one unit. The “Ultrazone-DUAL.” 

     Ozone is by far the best way to boost your water quality. The “Ultrazone-DUAL” cleans up aquarium water by removing unwanted organic decay, proteins, and pollutants. By eliminating harmful organics, ozone increases the longevity of all marine life. These units manufacture ozone by passing oxygen molecules over a specially designed light source. The active oxygen is used to create superior water quality, providing aquarium inhabitants with a clean environment for living and reproducing. 

The “Ultrazone-DUAL” Ozone Generators are designed in such a way that the same light source used to produce ozone,  is encased in a single quartz glass sleeve to generate UV light. As water flows past this quartz sleeve, it receives the many benefits of UV sterilization.

The “Ultrazone-DUAL” units work equally well with venturi reactors or venturi protein skimmers. Allowing for maximum flow rates up to 1500 GPH, these units are designed to be used with your favorite water pumps.

The features include watertight gasket housing, hard quartz sleeve, inline lamp replacement, high efficiency remote electronic ballast as well as a compact design. Made in the USA and has a 1-year warranty on the Unit and Ballast, and 30 days on the Lamp and Quartz Sleeve.

The “Ultrazone-DUAL” is an excellent choice for Freshwater, Saltwater and Pond applications.

Based on a 70,000 æW sec/cm2 (microwatt seconds per square centimeter) the flow rates are as follows:

By changing the flow rate of the unit, you will change the active “Power” of the UV unit.

For example: If you only allow 500 gph thru the unit, you will effectively increase the killing power to 140,000 æW sec/cm2 (microwatt seconds per square centimeter). And also the opposite, by increasing the flow rate you will lower the “Power.”

We have included a chart to help you calculate your flow rate depending on the “Power” needed for the corresponding Micro-Organisms.

The “Ultrazone-DUAL” is designed for safety, performance and low maintenance. These generators do not require air dryer as is the case with other ozone generators and can be used with aquariums up to 600 gallons and have a lamp life of approximately 9000 hours.

 

NOTE: The Standard model allows for continuous UV & Ozone production or when used with an ORP controller, both the UV and Ozone Production turn on & off as the controller calls for ozone.

The PRO model utilizes a unique switching configuration that allows the UV production to be continuous while an ORP controller turns the ozone part on & off as needed.

"Standard" Model - Basic Operating Instructions:
	
1. Open the Ultrazone-DUAL Unit by unscrewing both end caps
2. Gently slide the bulb into the Quartz Sleeve
3. Hand tighten the fittings / grommets that seal both ends of the Quartz Sleeve
4. Connect the 4-Pin bulb plug from Inside the End-Cap to the Bulb
5. Install both end caps back onto the Unit
6. Connect the airline from venturi to the air nipple,(opposite the electrical connection)
7. Install appropriate water fittings into threaded female sockets on Unit
8. Install hosing from water pump to the Unit, and from Unit, for the return water
9. Install clamps on all hosing
10. Mount Unit in desired location
11. Plug Unit in ORP Controller, Timer or GFCI grounded outlet
12. Turn on water pump with desired flow rate determined from above chart
13. Check for any leaks. Tighten clamps if necessary
14. If Bulb replacement is needed, follow same general procedure in steps 1-5
